Aeration & Overseeding in Fairview
Most thin lawns in Fairview are not starving, they are suffocating. The newer lots on the edge of town sit on compacted clay fill that water and roots can barely penetrate, and the older lawns near the school have been packed down by decades of foot traffic. Either way the soil is too tight for roots to spread, and the grass thins no matter how you feed it.
Core aeration fixes the cause. We run a machine that pulls finger-sized plugs of soil out across the whole lawn, opening channels for air, water, and fertilizer to reach the root zone, and easing the compaction so roots can grow out instead of giving up at the surface.

Aeration and overseeding belong together. The instant after we pull the plugs, the lawn is full of perfect little seedbeds, so we spread fresh seed right behind the machine and it drops into the holes where it stays moist and makes soil contact. That is how a thin lawn fills back in instead of just getting holes poked in it.
Fall is the prime window for cool-season grass. New seed needs light, frequent watering to root, much like sod installation, and the reseeded lawn responds far better to a fertilization program afterward.
