Landscape Design in Fairview
Good landscape design starts with the site you actually have, and Fairview hands us two very different ones. The older lots near the school sit in heavy shade under mature maples and oaks, with tree roots competing for every drop of water, so the plant list there has to love shade and tolerate dry, root-filled soil. The newer lots on the edge of town are the opposite: full sun, compacted clay fill, and thin builder topsoil that needs amending before anything goes in the ground.
Designing for the wrong conditions is how a landscape looks great for one season and struggles after that. We read the light, test the soil, and watch where water runs during a hard rain before we draw a single bed.
Built to Fill In
A planting plan should look right the day we finish and better in three years, so we space plants for their mature size, set the grade to move water away from the house, and build beds with proper soil and edging. We pick plants suited to the spot instead of forcing a look the conditions will fight.
A finished design usually leads into mulch installation to lock in the beds and tree and shrub care to keep the bones healthy. The full process is on our landscape design page, with all our Fairview work at Fairview.
