Sod Installation in Maplewood
Plenty of the newer homes along the parkway came with builder sod laid over compacted fill, and it shows: thin roots, bare seams, and patches that never took. Sod only succeeds if the ground under it is ready, so the prep is where we spend the time. We strip the failed turf, break up and amend the compacted clay, grade it to drain away from the house, and rake it smooth before a single roll goes down.
Then we lay fresh sod tight with the seams staggered like brickwork, roll it to press the roots into contact with the soil, and walk you through the watering schedule that gets it rooted in the first two weeks.
New sod pairs well with an irrigation installation to keep it watered, and landscape design to finish the beds around it. Full process on our sod installation page, or the Maplewood hub.
