Lawn Mowing & Maintenance in Lakeside
Mowing in Lakeside is not one job, it is two. The shaded lots under the mature maples and oaks behind the shore grow thin and slow, while the open lots in the blocks between the lake and Route 9 grow fast and dry out in July. We set blade height to the lawn in front of us, not to a calendar.
How We Cut
We follow the one-third rule: never take more than a third of the blade in a single pass, because scalping a stressed lawn invites weeds and bare spots. Blades get sharpened on a schedule, since a dull blade tears the grass and leaves a frayed brown tip that the moist lake air turns into disease. On the shaded north-facing slopes we leave the grass taller so the little sunlight it gets goes further.
Weekly cuts pair well with our fertilization program, and overgrown shade is often a sign you need aeration and overseeding. Service details live on the lawn mowing page, and the Lakeside hub covers the rest.
